The days of the aesthetic world being the domain of only women are long gone. Today men want the same rejuvenation as women. And why not? Why should men have to live with sagging eyelids or a double chin? That’s no way to compete with younger counterparts at the office!
In April’s springy Beaty blogs, let’s talk about a few of the cosmetic surgeries performed by Dr. Beaty for men, along with how they’re different from the same procedures performed on women.
Chin Augmentation
A strong chin and jawline are tenets of a masculine face. Men typically have more chiseled, angular chins. Hello, Kirk Douglas!
But some men have a chin that is slightly recessed. It’s nothing they’re doing or not doing; it’s just genetics. Other men would like to change the definition of their chin, as it is softer than they’d like.
Chin augmentation is done by Dr. Beaty uses silicone or Gore-Tex implants. They come in a wide variety of shapes. Plus, we can shave an existing implant to perfectly suit your needs.
These implants are surgically attached, in most cases directly to the bone. We enter through the mouth or sometimes in a small incision under the chin. A pocket is made for the implant, and it is placed. The small incision is then closed. If we’re working on both sides, we’ll repeat the process on the other side. Recovery is not difficult.
Rhinoplasty
The nose and the eyes are the focal points of the face. Women have long used rhinoplasty (the first documented rhinoplasty was done in the U.S. in 1887) to change features about their nose they don’t like. Maybe it’s a bump on the bridge, maybe flared nostrils.
Who says men have to live with a nose they don’t like? Or maybe a man has a nose that is crooked from when it was broken in a touch football game back in college.
Rhinoplasty is a delicate procedure that demands serious expertise and experience. Dr. Beaty is double board-certified and been in private practice for nearly 25 years.
In April’s second blog, we’ll get into a couple other surgeries for men at Beaty. Until then, call us at (770) 753-0053 to schedule a consultation.
