Taking care of my skin has not always been a top priority of mine. If I’m being honest, there were plenty of days in my not-so-distant past that I spent carelessly sunbathing without sunscreen and plenty of nights I didn’t take my makeup off before I went to bed. As I’ve gotten older and the lines have become more apparent (and more there-all-the-time), I’ve realized the dire importance of skincare. Not only do I want to look my very best at 27, I want to be sure I’m taking preventative measures against the inevitable aging of my skin. Here are the products that are now part of my daily regimen:
Eyes: Even at my age of nearly-30, I often times wake up with puffy eyes and bags. Remedy: NeoCutis’ Lumiere. Lumiere helps get rid of the puffiness with Caffeine, and plumps that area with Hyaluronic Acid. It also diminishes the appearance of dark bags. I feel like this product really brightens up my eyes and keeps me looking refreshed. Check out the article from InStyle Magazine!
Sunscreen: It has not been long in my life since I was basking in the Florida sun sans sunscreen and sometimes plus baby oil. Raised in sunny Sarasota, daily sun exposure was just part of life. It took me a few too many bad sunburns to realize the importance of protecting myself from harmful UVA/UVB rays, not only for health reasons, but for wrinkles, too. Not much else ages us tan, young people like overexposure to sun. In my more recent years, I have become diligent about wearing sunscreen EVERY DAY, even though I don’t find myself soaking up the sun quite as often here in Alpharetta. Remedy: EltaMD’s UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46. My love for EltaMD’s UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 facial sunscreen has only grown with time. Not only does it protect my face against the sun and other elements (like free radicals), it calms the redness and dark spots. It contains niacinamide (vitamin B3), hyaluronic acid and lactic acid that combine to make my skin look fresh and bright. It is super light (never sticky) and is paraben-free. Moisturizer: Using a good moisturizer has become extremely important to me, especially since I now live in a climate that has seasons. My skin tends to dry out in the winter, especially around my nose and forehead. Remedy: Revision’s Intellishade Matte, Tinted Moisturizer. I have fallen in love with Revision’s Intellishade Matte Tinted Moisturizer, as featured in Harper’s Bazaar. I prefer to use the Matte version rather than the original, because I find it makes my pores look smaller. The moisturizer blends in naturally with the skin and has a wonderful glow-y tint to it. I love to use it as a makeup primer and find that the soft glow brightens my whole look. It is doubles as a sunscreen with anti-aging peptides, so I don’t have to worry about applying a different sunscreen and product on days I wear this.
Facial Cleanser: I am proud to say that I have found what I consider to be the best facial cleanser on the market. Remedy: Elta MD’s Foaming Facial Cleanser. This was not an easy accomplishment, as I have tried pretty much all there is to try. Nothing quite compares to Elta MD’s Foaming Facial Cleanser. What hooked me in the first place was the softness and silkiness of the product. After you rub it on the skin for about 30 seconds, it reacts to the heat of the water and starts to foam up. Maybe it’s just me, but I can feel it working. Just whisking the dirt and oil right off my face. It completely rids my face of any trace of makeup and leaves my skin feeling so smooth and wonderful. It is oil-free, safe for any skin type, and gentle enough to use in the morning and at night.
While I’m looking younger and brighter, I’m also taking preventative measures to stay looking that way! While there are countless products out there I think these are among the top product lines to help win the fight against facial aging. Stop by and see us to learn more!
