To have the surgeon you want, you sometimes have to travel for your plastic surgery.
1) If I live out of state or far from Atlanta, can I have surgery with one of your surgeons?
The answer is yes! Our team is very adept at providing care in advance to surgery and supplying you with all the information you need to make the surgical process as smooth as possible. Additionally, Atlanta has one of the largest and busiest airports in the country which makes it an ideal destination to fly into and out of for your procedure.
2) How do I do a long-distance consultation?
Dr. Beaty offers virtual consultations to discuss your concerns and make recommendations for treatment. For certain cases, they can do image morphing for rhinoplasty. One of our surgical coordinators can give you instructions on the type of photos to send in for the patient to get a simulation of possible results if applicable. If you are able to do an in-person consultation, we can assist you in arranging that.
3) How do I schedule surgery long-distance?
After your consultation, our surgical coordinators will email you an estimate for surgery and additional information on how to schedule surgery. In general, you all will pick a surgical date and a deposit will be collected to secure that date.
4) How do I prepare for surgery if I do not live in Atlanta?
Once you decide to proceed with surgery, a member of our clinical team will get in touch with you. They will send you paperwork to fill out your medical history. If you are having anesthesia during your surgery, then they will send you instructions on how to get lab work and possibly other tests done through your primary care physician to be sent to our office in advance. Additionally, they will send any medication prescriptions to your local pharmacy to bring to Atlanta for your surgery. You will come to one of our office locations the day before surgery to meet the surgeon, take photos, go over pre-operative instructions, receive post-operative wound care supplies, sign consent forms, and have any additional questions answered.
5) How long do I need to stay in Atlanta after surgery?
We ask that you plan to be in Atlanta for 7-10 days after surgery. We can assist in arranging transportation and recommend accommodations of where to stay during your recovery. Our surgeons or a member of the clinical team will see you the day after your surgery. Then, sutures will come out at 1 week after surgery. In general, you are cleared to fly or drive home after that time. If you live within 2-3 hours of Atlanta, you can recover at home after your post-operative day 1 visit and then return for your suture removal a week later.
6) How do I follow up after surgery?
Our staff will arrange virtual follow up appointments and may ask for photos to be set in. At times, we can arrange for a plastic surgeon in your area to see you for any concerns. We do appreciate in person follow up, but understand that cannot always be arranged.
