Is it simply diluted filler?
Hyperdilute filler refers to taking regular off the shelf fillers and diluting them with sterile saline solution. This process can be done with many of the different fillers on the market. Recently there has been a surge in interest regarding hyperdilute biostimulating fillers, particularly Radiesse.
What is unique about Radiesse?
Radiesse is calcium hydroxyapatite filler which at full strength can be used to change the contour of structures such as the jawline and cheekbones, as well as fill in lines and folds. One of the properties of Radiesse is that in addition to the direct filling effect it also stimulates the body to form new collagen.
What does diluting it do to the filler?
When it is hyperdiluted with sterile saline the filling effect is eliminated but the biostimulation is retained. Because of this collagen biostimulating property, hyperdilute Radiesse is used to improve skin texture and quality as well as fine lines and wrinkles in areas that are difficult to treat with other methods, such as the neck.
How is it injected?
The product is injected subcutaneously in a broad, fanning pattern and stimulates collagen formation in the deep dermis, improving skin tone and texture while also improving wrinkles. This can be a particularly powerful method for improving skin where laser or chemical resurfacing are difficult.
